Meeting Between the President of Kazakhstan – EU Gateway, Valikhan Bakhretdinov, and His Excellency Mr. Henri Vantieghem, Former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan

The President of Kazakhstan – EU Gateway, Valikhan Bakhretdinov, held a productive and forward-looking meeting with His Excellency Mr. Henri Vantieghem, Former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The discussion focused on strengthening economic, cultural, and diplomatic cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as developing new formats of partnership with Belgium.

During the meeting, Mr. Bakhretdinov emphasized the increasing strategic relevance of Kazakhstan–EU relations and noted the substantial potential for deepening cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, logistics, and sustainable development. Both sides also highlighted the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian exchange, which plays a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and long-term collaboration.

Former Ambassador Vantieghem expressed his continued support for strengthening bilateral ties and reaffirmed Belgium’s interest in developing robust cooperation with Kazakhstan. He noted that Kazakhstan remains a reliable and strategically significant partner for Europe, with broad opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors.

Both parties underscored the importance of expanding business cooperation, strengthening regional dialogue, and encouraging greater engagement of European companies in Kazakhstan’s rapidly developing sectors, including green energy, digital technologies, logistics, and innovation.

The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to develop new initiatives that will deepen economic ties, broaden cultural collaboration, and unlock the full potential of Kazakhstan–EU relations in the coming years.
