High-Level Roundtable on the Sustainable Middle Corridor Held in Brussels

On 29 April 2026, Kazakhstan-EU Gateway, in partnership with FERRMED and the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS), hosted a high-level roundtable in Brussels on the future of the Sustainable Middle Corridor.  

The discussion brought together policymakers, industry representatives, and experts to explore how to move from strategic coordination to concrete, bankable implementation of the corridor. Key topics included infrastructure development, financing and investment, as well as digital and sustainable logistics.  

The roundtable featured two focused sessions on green logistics and investment, with contributions from representatives of EU institutions, industry associations, and key stakeholders involved in the development of the corridor.  The event featured contributions from distinguished participants, including H.E. Roman Vassilenko, Charlotte Adriaen, Cristian Terheş, and Marat Terterov, alongside leading industry representatives such as Joan Amoros, Godfried Smit, Erik Van De Sande, Dair Amirov, Bauyrzhan Mukayev, Marc Billiet, Heinrich Kerstgens, and Rustem Sagiddinov.

The roundtable provided a platform for open exchange and practical discussion, highlighting the growing importance of the Middle Corridor in strengthening EU-Central Asia connectivity.
