On 3 June, Kazakhstan-EU Gateway participated in the high-level conference “To Mine or Not To Mine Critical Minerals in Europe? From Societal Concerns to Shared Solutions” in Helsinki, Finland.
We were proud to see Valikhan Bakhretdinov, President of Kazakhstan-EU Gateway, present “Responsible Mining in Kazakhstan: From Strategic Resources to Social Legitimacy – What Can Europe Learn from a Central Asian Perspective?”
His presentation highlighted Kazakhstan’s role in critical mineral value chains and the importance of responsible mining, community engagement, and sustainable resource governance.
