Brussels hosted the Business Conference Strengthening Kazakhstan–EU Connectivity: Prospects and Strategic Potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), bringing together more than 100 representatives from Kazakhstan, the European Union, international financial institutions and the private sector.
Held during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Belgium, the conference served as an important platform for dialogue on strengthening transport connectivity between Europe and Central Asia.
Participants discussed the strategic development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), widely known as the Middle Corridor, focusing on infrastructure modernisation, logistics digitalisation, supply chain resilience, investment opportunities and stronger cooperation under the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative. The programme also featured high-level discussions between policymakers and industry leaders, as well as the signing of several cooperation agreements aimed at expanding transport and logistics partnerships.
The conference reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor as a reliable and sustainable transport corridor linking Europe and Asia, while highlighting Kazakhstan’s growing role as a regional transit and logistics hub.
Most importantly, the event demonstrated the continued strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, reflecting a shared commitment to developing resilient connectivity, promoting economic growth and building long-term strategic partnerships.
