On 7 July 2026, Kazakhstan-EU Gateway participated in the latest edition of the Shanyraq Dialogues, held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brussels, a focused discussion on “Kazakhstan – European Union: New Horizons of Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation.
Following the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union and its Member States, the event highlighted the state and prospects for further advancement of the EPCA, in light of recent developments, including at the highest level between Astana and Brussels.
The meeting featured the participation of H.E. Mr. Roman Vassilenko, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission of Kazakhstan to the European Union and NATO, and Ms. Audronė Perkauskienė, Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service. As keynote speakers, they shared their views on new developments in political dialogue, trade and investment cooperation and humanitarian ties.

The discussion addressed the latest agreements reached between the leaders of Kazakhstan and the EU, and the progress of bilateral cooperation across transport connectivity, energy, critical raw materials, green and digital transition, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. Participants also explored new avenues for mobility, education, research and innovation cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as the potential implications of the entry into force of Kazakhstan’s new Constitution on 1 July 2026 for its strategic partnership with the EU.
