KEG President Participates in Bruegel Annual Meetings 2026 in Brussels

On 2 September 2026, President of Kazakhstan–EU Gateway (KEG) Valikhan Bakhretdinov participated in the Bruegel Annual Meetings 2026 in Brussels. The flagship conference brought together representatives of EU institutions, national governments, international organisations, academia and the private sector to discuss Europe’s strategic priorities, economic competitiveness, trade policy and geopolitical challenges.

During the event, new perspectives for strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union were discussed, with particular attention to expanding dialogue between think tanks, research institutions and policy experts.

The exchanges highlighted the importance of independent analytical platforms in generating practical recommendations, improving mutual understanding and supporting evidence-based policymaking in both Kazakhstan and the EU.

KEG reaffirmed its readiness to facilitate stronger institutional links between the European and Kazakh expert communities through joint research, policy discussions, expert exchanges and public events.

Such cooperation can make a meaningful contribution to advancing the Kazakhstan–EU partnership in areas including connectivity, sustainable development, critical raw materials, energy, trade and innovation.

We are thankful for such exchanges and are looking forward for many more!!🇰🇿🇪🇺
