Explore how KEG connects people, institutions, and ideas to strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union.

KEG is a Brussels-based non-profit association dedicated to strengthening cooperation, dialogue, and innovation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. It connects experts, institutions, and citizens committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive partnerships.

Membership is open to individuals and organizations — including academics, policymakers, NGOs, businesses, students, and institutions — that support KEG’s mission of fostering EU–Kazakhstan cooperation.

Members gain access to exclusive events, policy discussions, research materials, networking opportunities, and EU project collaborations. They also receive visibility through KEG’s publications and community platforms.

KEG hosts conferences, roundtables, workshops, and cultural diplomacy events across Brussels and Central Asia, bringing together policymakers, academics, and civil society actors.

Members can join working groups, publish insights, participate in research, or collaborate on EU-funded projects. Active engagement is encouraged across all professional backgrounds.

KEG’s registered office is in the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium — at Avenue des Arts 56, 1000 Brussels. The association also maintains partnerships and activities in Astana and Almaty.

The association is governed by its Board of Directors, chaired by Mr. Valikhan Bakhretdinov (President) and Mr. Zhanybek Yessimseitov (Vice-President). The Board oversees strategy, management, and international engagement.

KEG operates on a non-profit basis, funded through a mix of membership contributions, project grants, partnerships, and donor support.
The association also applies for EU-funded programmes.
All financial activities are managed transparently in line with Belgian non-profit regulations and audited annually by the Board of Directors.
